"Ah...and then there is the main maternity doctor here...well she's really really nice and motherly but she has like fourteen kids and one on the way." Tammy rolled her eyes, "I love children but that many is crazy." She sighed irately.

"I like kids... but they don't like me..." He shook his head, "Fourteen kids? I don't know what I'd do! Is there a house big enough around here?"

"Yeah they have a huge house...I went to babysit with a couple friends." Tammy shuddered, "They are evil little things."

Shayne stared straight ahead. He couldn't imagine having that many children. "That many... I really just can't imagine having that many children!"

"Neither can I...maybe one or two...but I can't. It's a weird condition I have." Tammy's face turned red at admitting that, she gulped suddenly and looked away.

Shayne let it slide, he figured it wasn't his business anyway. "Yeah, I had four other siblings... Technically I'm the third oldest, but the oldest died in a car wreck, so I'm the second oldest living child you might say. I have one remaining sister, and two brothers... what about you?"

"I have a twin sister...we weren't exactly born normal...but...we're still sisters." Tammy said with a bit of a smile.

Shayne raised an eyebrow. "Born normal? What do you mean?"

"C-Section...it's not normal. Oh and my head was kinda...well we were...stuck together...it sounds odd but it's true." Tammy's face turned red as she told him that, it was embarrassing.

"Wow... I really would never have guessed! You can't tell at all!" He then pointed to a diagonal scar stretching from just under his left nostril to the right side of his top lip. "I was born with a cleft pallet."

"Oh...I've seen babies that have that problem...it's rare you see a case like mine though. The surgeon that made us well 'normal' was very talented so it's not even noticeable...and I have a lot of hair." Tammy shrugged.

"Having a lot of hair is better than being bald. My dad is balding early, but my mom isn't... we're waiting to see who's hair genes I got." He chuckled a little at his statement... his dad's haircut reminded him of a monk.

"Yeah I love my hair, it's something I don't think I'll be okay about. And that's funny, I bet you have good genes." Tammy said playing with his hair a little.

Shayne laughed, "My unfortunate older sister got Dad's genes... apparently Rogaine really does work." He tried straightening his messy hair, and it just popped back where it was to begin with.

"Mhm...maybe so." Tammy stopped at the elevator, "I'll show you around more later, I need to get back to work now...good luck!"

"Thanks... have fun!" He smiled, and walked off toward where he figured the cafeteria was. He was quite ready for breakfast before going down to the E.R.

Tammy went back to work taking care of the babies. Giving them what they needed before they'd go see their mothers. She absolutely loved her job.

When Shayne finally reached the E.R. he was immediately put to work. His first patient: a man bleeding to death with a knife wound to the chest... a heart surgeon's job. Nevertheless, he got the knife out, and sewed the wounds up, saving the man's life. When he finished, he smiled. He loved saving people... he loved helping them.

-Months Later-

Tammy was sitting in the nursery rocking a baby to sleep and feeding it. The ones that didn't have mothers or fathers and were set to go to orphanages or foster homes were the ones that Tammy often got to hold and take care of in that way.

Shayne knocked on the nursery glass, trying to get her attention. Rules wise, he wasn't allowed in there since he wasn't nursery staff... but few people cared. But today, it just so happened that someone locked the nursery door and he couldn't get in. He smiled though, and waved in-between knocks.

Tammy looked up and saw him, waving back after laying the baby back in the little bed provided for it. She came out and looked at him with curiosity. "What's up Shayne?" She asked tilting her head to the side a little.

"We had a baby come in through the E.R. and need some help. No one knows how to handle babies down ther, and if you haven't noticed... none of the maternity doctors are here currently. It's an eighteen month little girl, having seizures... we are all at a loss as to what to do. We gave her a tiny amount of medecine to send her to sleep until I was able to get you. They send me, because I'm a guy and they don't think I can handle babies at all... I'm the only doctor out of the lot of them. Help, please?" He smiled charmingly, his eyes now coupled with contacts and not glasses gleamed a bright green.

"Sure I'll come down!" Tammy ran to the first floor with him and went to the E.R room where he had been working most likely and took a look at the baby. Saying she needed more information than what she got from Shayne.

Shayne watched patiently, waiting to see if he'd have to do some kind of obscure baby surgery or something. He also watched Tammy, she certainly was beautiful... inside and out.
