"Dang and all that defragging...saving files and reinstalling windows for nothing!?" Robert couldn't help but laugh at this, he'd reinstalled it so many times.

"Yeah! It's pretty stupid, I know! That's also why every time we re-installed Windows, it worked for a day! Because after we left, someone put it back on!" She couldn't believe it... "I wonder who it was..."

"I really have no idea! Hey I was going to ask...would you like to go out tonight, like have some dinner, maybe see a movie?" Robert asked, he looked extremely dashing today, his hair was combed back to perfection, his glasses nicely seated on the bridge of his nose, everything seemed to be in place.

Kirah stared at him. She was half-way through with saying something, and it took quite a bit of effort to shut her jaw. She gulped nervously, and nodded, a bit confused. "Uh... yeah! I'd love to, that sounds fun!" She blushed hard, turning red extremely quick. Well... he's pretty quick to the point...

"Great! I have something I need to discuss with you this evening." Robert sounded so professional when he spoke, it always seemed to be in a business manner...except when he left the building, then he was back to his funny self.

Kirah smiled, as she straightened from her completely-caught-off-guard stature. "O....kay..." That worried her a little bit, she really didn't understand completely. She had gotten her hair cut, and it was now just below her jaw-line and was choppy. She decided not to color it, so it was her natural dark brown. She pulled her shirt down, which liked to ride up a little bit, and did the same with her skirt. "I'll go get your computer and bring it to you... maybe I can hi-jack an orderly to help me... that way it'll only take one trip!" She smiled her signature huge smile, and began to walk out of the room, bouncing a little as she went.

Robert only nodded as he began to get back to work, he was seriously considering switching to a laptop so she didn't have to do so much work, he hated to see her doing all of that.

Kirah came back not too long later, with a slightly irritated look on her face, two orderlies trailing behind her. One with the monitor, one with the tower. She was carrying the mouse and keyboard. She set them in a chair and told them to set the things down, and let them go. "Ugh! I told them I could carry the tower, but noooo! They wouldn't let me!" Her hands were on her hips now as she stared at the computer. She really hated hooking them back up... too many wires.

Robert came over and began to hook it up, no words were said. He appeared to have a lot on his mind at the moment and seemed focused. He gave her a smile and went back to studying.

Kirah watched him, a little surprised. "Robert... are you okay?" She looked at him with concern.

"Yup, I just have a lot on my mind, forgive me." Robert smiled at her and slipped some gloves on while he worked with some chemicals.

She smiled back as she powered the computer up. "There's nothing to forgive... I just don't like seeing you so... I don't know... you seem so depressed lately!" The computer came up, and she typed in the password... and it wasn't right. Dadgummit!!

Robert looked up upon hearing those words, "I'm not depressed!" He replied sharply, but not in an angry way, more in a laughing sort of tone.

"Well I am right now... I've tried the password three times but I reme-.... nevermind." She typed something in, and the welcome screen came up. "Anyway, you see depressed! You may not be, but you seem that way!"

Robert sighed, "What do you want from me, Kirah?" He asked suddenly, this time he seemed angry, it wasn't funny this time.

Kirah stared at him, she hadn't expected that reaction at all. "I'm sorry." She then went back to getting the computer set up quietly.

Robert continued, "I'm not depressed, I really thought I was doing better! In fact, I was...I was going to tell you something important tonight!" The room became so silent that tension built up making everything feel uncomfortable.

Kirah stared at him. She was speechless.. not really knowing what to say. "I'm sorry... I meant you've been really quiet lately... that's all." She didn't look at him, afraid that she might make him mad again... she didn't want that.

"Well sorry! It doesn't mean I'm depressed it just means I'm being quiet, I'm thinking and I'm so busy staring at you because I'm madly in love with you!" Robert slapped his hand over his mouth.

Kirah gasped... that was negative 3000 on the list of things she had expected him to say. Her face turned bright crimson, and her heart fluttered like a butterfly in the springtime. "I love you too... Robert." She was trembling now, this was what he wanted to tell her? I can't believe this... is this a trick?

Robert moved towards her and wrapped her in a hug, "All this time I've felt something but I was too scared to show it...I kept feeling like it was too soon to move on and do it...but...I guess it's not a bad thing." He said.

Kirah hugged him back. "I've loved you since I met you." She was still shocked that he'd even be able to feel that way about her... she didn't think he ever would.

"Jamie wants me to live my life to the fullest and move on, Kirah...I feel like the time is now...I...I really do." Robert said.

"Well... I'm happy for you!" She smiled sweetly, and began to finger her blouse nervously... she'd never been in this situation before, and frankly... she had no idea what to do.

Robert frowned, "You're not with me fully on this are you?" He looked a bit hurt, but he quickly hid his emotions and put on his professional face, "Okay, I understand." He smiled though it was forced and left the room without another word, he had some other work to do. And with that he shut the door and disappeared down the hall.
