[Lumina]

"Haha, I guess so!" I stretched up my arm but jerked it back down when I felt a stinging pain, I'd almost forgotten that I was wounded just last night.

[Cricket]

I sighed. "Be careful! We don't need you ripping those wounds open." I chastised with a kind smile. He needed to be a little more careful. If he started bleeding again, I wasn't sure if I could get it to stop. Besides, he had lost quite a bit of blood.

[Lumina]

I hadn't noticed how pale I looked from blood loss the evening before. I didn't feel very weak or anything so I assumed I was fine.

"I know, I'm trying to be careful for a while."

[Cricket]

"Well, as long as you're trying." I replied. "You'll be better before too long. Then you'll be able to throw your knives at me again, making me climb the tree faster... or chase me down and tackle me because I mouthed off or something." I laughed. "And be glad I'm not taking this chance of you being wounded to be mean to you. I'm resisting the temptation because I'm nice like that!" And because I'm sure you have a long memory and will remember such things until you're able to punish me again... Temptation? I didn't have one. I just threw that in there because it sounded funny. Laughter is the best medicine!

[Lumina]

"That's just how I'll be in teacher mode. I'm your love right now." I hoped she still remembered that we were not in Iga territory yet.

[Cricket]

"Mhm, yes I know. And a handsome one at that!" Yes I remembered, but no one was around to hear us anyway... or so I thought. I fingered my hair, and gasped. "My hair! It's growing again!!" I exclaimed happily. I almost started jumping up and down. "I hadn't noticed that it had grown out some!"

[Lumina]

"Woops, can't have that now!" I sliced it with one move with my good arm, "There, I like it that way."

[Cricket]

"I should have kept my big mouth shut." I sighed, feeling how short he'd cut it. It was the same length as the original cut. I then looked up at him. He was so much taller than me it wasn't even funny. "You like my hair short? How is that possible? I look like a boy!"

[Lumina]

"There will be a day when it won't matter, but until you can balance perfectly I will not allow you to have long hair." I said, holding a finger up to make my point.

[Cricket]

I brightened at that. "Really? I shall practice hard then!" I really wanted my long hair back... even though having it short was extremely functional. I didn't have to worry about people grabbing my hair in a fight. But my long hair was so much prettier... I was prettier.

[Lumina]

"Don't feel like you need hair to be beautiful," I began, "You are beautiful for who you are and inside. But what is most strikingly beautiful is your eyes."

[Cricket]

"What?" Did he really just say that? "A-Are you serious?" I could barely believe the words that had come from his mouth at that moment.

[Lumina]

"Perfectly." I replied, knowing I really meant it. It hadn't just been 'fake husband' again.

[Cricket]

I blushed a little. No one had ever told me my eyes were beautiful before. I ignored them for the most part. I ignored them so much that I didn't know they changed with my moods until Sensei had told me. "Thanks..." I said softly.

[Lumina]

"You're welcome." I felt my chest do that weird thing. When my heart was tugging or something on that order. I still wasn't sure what to do about that.

[Cricket]

The trip was long, but after awhile we finally made it back to the small village we had stayed at days before. "Do I need to act as your wife still?" I asked quietly before we entered the town.

[Lumina]

"Not really. We're only here to pick up a couple things and rest and then we'll be in Iga by noon tomorrow." I told her. I needed to gather some bandages and things to keep up with my wounds, at least until they healed.

[Cricket]

"Alright then!" I replied, happy most of the fake stuff was over. "Lets go get those 'couple-of-things'!" I stated with a smile.

[Lumina]

We did that and then when we got to the inn with the cat I crashed. I was exhausted beyond words and just wanted to sleep.

[Cricket]

It didn't take too long for him to fall asleep. And once he did, I realized I didn't have time to change his bandages. So, I gently tugged at his tunic, slipping it off of him. I then began the long process of pulling his bandages away without waking him up. It was difficult, but I was able to do it. I noticed he had bled just a bit on his shoulder. Probably from when I chastised him. I cleaned him up with warm water, then dried him off. I didn't want him waking up and catching me doing that. It would have been really awkward. After that, I began wrapping him back up. That was hard. The guy was so muscular that he was heavy! Almost to heavy for me to lift. I lifted him up just enough to begin to push a bandage end underneath him.

[Lumina]

I wondered if she noticed how I suddenly felt lighter, I was now holding my own weight while she was changing the bandages on my wounds. I smiled a little, it was okay that she was doing that. I'd forgotten in all my sleepiness.

[Cricket]

Hmm... he feels a bit lighter... I thought briefly before shrugging it off. I then pulled the end of the bandage through when I noticed it. His smile. "Ijin!" I exclaimed irately. "Why didn't you let me know you were awake?!" So embarrassing!

[Lumina]

"Because I just now woke up and I was slightly amused." I patted her on the head, "Thank you for doing this, I nearly forgot."

[Cricket]

"I know you nearly forgot! I did too which is why I'm doing this now because there is no other time to do it!" I was speaking so fast my words were nearly running together. My hands shook as I bandaged him up. That morning hadn't been too hard... but at that instant... I felt totally embarrassed. It was like I felt I was caught in the act of doing something wrong. I knew I hadn't been, but when your body is acting like that, you can't exactly stop it.

"Aja...? Are you alright?" I put my hand to her forehead, "You're not sick are you? Should I get you something?"
