Derek drove them to the beach where he had a HUGE box of things to set up for the evening. "Lets get to work."

Lexi was just finishing eating breakfast as she went to sit back at her desk and see what everyone was up to online. She wondered why everything was so quiet...eighteenth birthday yeah right.

Just about that time, Anna knocked on her window. "Lexi!! You better be awake!!! D8<<" She was all dressed up for a day in the town. She had her hair up in a neat ponytail, a red and black plaid semi-mini-skirt on with black tights underneath, and black clunky boots, and a red shirt with a black cami underneath... Anna wore some of the ODDEST things sometimes.

Lexi came to the door, her hair was blood red, she had her nose ring in and her makeup on neatly. She was wearing a plaid purple vest, a white trim fitting tee under that and a long black skirt with some black flipflops. Hair hair was also very short, just above her neck.
"Hi!" She exclaimed happily. "I've been up for an hour now."

"Then get out here! We're going SHOPPING!!!" She exclaimed happily, arms spread wide. Her ocean blue eyes sparkled with excitement. "Hurry up, girl!!"

Lexi grinned and stepped out of the house, "I'm ready!" She exclaimed and skipped off the porch and to Anna's car. "Just don't kill me!"

Anna glared at her, and got in her 'Galactic Pearl Blue' bug as the book called it. "Don't worry, I won't! It's hard to get the stains out of the cealing and floorboards. And the smell? Oh! It's horrible and is IMPOSSIBLE to eliminate!" She exclaimed as she backed out of Lexi's driveway.

"You know what makes me mad? Derek has called me every birthday first thing in the morning for three years! I didn't get a call from him at all this time, ugh!" Lexi crossed her arms stubbornly, she acted like that a lot.

Anna stared at her for a few seconds... they were at a red light. "Lexi, chill! Just cool down! You have no idea what he could have planned!"

"That's right, he's Derek! Almost forgot..." Lexi sighed and glanced to the side, "STARBUCKS!" She cried happily, "I need a frappacino!"

Anna quickly turned into the Starbucks with lightning-fast reflexes. They parked in a small little parking spot EASILY with Anna's bug, and walked inside. "What do you want? I'm buying."

"Strawberry frapacino! They are so good!" Lexi got out of the car looking so excited, she had her purse with her and everyone knew if Lexi had her purse she planned on paying for something!

Anna snatched her purse, popped the trunk, tossed it in, slammed the door and locked the car, laughing maniacally. "You're not paying for ANYTHING today!" She smiled mischievously.

Lexi sighed and her shoulders drooped, "Well don't keep it, I have a hundred dollars in that purse! Lets go." Lexi felt almost lost without her purse...with her cell phone and other possessions in it.

"What use do I have of your purse? I have billions of my own..." Anna drug her inside, and placed her in front of the register. "Order!"

Anna ordered a Strawberry Creme, and paid for both of them. "Don't be so uptight! You're legally competant now! Isn't that great?!" She giggled happily, giving her friend a random hug.

Lexi sighed, "Okay, whatever you say!" She said with a big smile as the frap was passed to her. She sipped at it little by little.

"Come on! We gotta go before the stores get packed!" And they were off again as Anna drug her along to the car, getting Lexi's cell out of her purse at least. "Cheer up! Have fun!" Anna quickly text Tyler, telling him to tell Derek to call Lexi.

"Derek, have you called Lexi this morning like you do EVERY birthday?" Tyler asked in amusement.

Derek's head popped up from what he was doing, he was inside a box digging for a piece to something. "No, I didn't! I'll call her real quick." He picked up his phone and gave Lexi a quick call. She was very happy to hear from him.

Tyler laughed, and went back to decorating.

Anna, on the other hand, was very busy trying not to act, or look mischievous... which was really hard because that was practically her middle name.

"Derek sounded so nervous, I hope he's okay!" Lexi snapped her phone shut and stuffed it in her purse.

"Well," Anna began. "He told Tyler that he had to get a physical today, and you KNOW what happens with physicals, right? They have to touch a guy's 'jigger-ma-whatzers'... I can only imagine the termoil, and chaos in his mind right now as he sits in the waiting room, HOPING it's not a guy, but also hoping it's not a girl either."

Lexi's face distorted in shock and disgust, "OH..." She gulped, "Well then..." She ran her hand through her short choppy hair and tried not to picture what Anna was talking about.

"SO.... that may be why he sounded a little nervous on the phone!" Anna said, concluding her lie. She hated to lie to Lexi, but... It's for her own good!!
